Day 2 in Cane Garden Bay

After a night of rain, we woke to cloudy skies  but not cloudy spirits!  We started out at Marina Cay exploring the cool island! We hiked to the top and wow what a view...  This is  a small island once inhabited by a famous author and it now is  a hotel, restaurant, dock and beach.  It is covered with tons of flower bushes!

We hiked the small trail and it was time to head back to the boat!  The wind was fast and we sailed thru some light showers to Cane Garden Bay back on Tortola.  Once there we took advantage of a mooring ball and went ashore. This is where the Callwood Family Distillery has been distilling sugar cane rum for more than 200 years!  We first visited Callwood 17 years ago and we are glad to report nothing has changed!  It is an easy walk and on the way back we stopped at a new attraction.  A glass blowing studio that is making things from recycled bottles from the bars!  We watched him make a new glass fish and bought a pendant and some sea glass.

We also made a new friend....

OK so keep your jokes to yourself... but yes the kids made friends with Boshi who followed them around the better part of the day and hung out on the beach with us.  When the boys went swimming he just hung out on the beach.

It didn't take long for everyone to get hungry so back to the boat for some dinner!  Wanting some ice cream the boys talked dad into letting them kayak  (or should I say letting Connor Kayak) back to the beach and meet them with the dingy.  The plan was for Connor to paddle to shore and William to paddle back but somehow William ended up with Dad and Connor towing him back. Overall i was another great successful day !  We have tons of video and we are trying to figure out how to post..
